My approach.

I see a life well-lived as a creative process. Authenticity is my guiding principle.

The process works best when the therapist is deeply engaged, focused on the details, and challenging you in constructive ways. I refine my approach based on your particular needs and invite correction as we go along.

I limit my focus to one-on-one work with adults, and I specialize in working with people from families impacted by emotional immaturity, narcissism, or substance use and those who feel overwhelmed by others’ needs. I’m effective with transitions: building in early adulthood, finding meaning in love and work, becoming a parent (including matrescence), and finding peace and contentment in later years. My work is trauma-informed.

About me.

I hold advanced degrees from Columbia and NYU and a BA from Sarah Lawrence College. I trained in outpatient psychiatry at Bellevue Hospital before joining their staff as a full-time therapist. I have also worked as a therapist in New York City’s Mental Health Services Corps, an evaluating clinician in Northwell’s psychiatry department, and as a counselor in student health services at NYU, where my role included acting as a consultant for staff therapists. I have supervised PhD candidates and early career therapists through full licensure, guest lectured at NYU, and published in academic and popular press.
